My 10-year-old grandson could manage MidAmerica better

Why don't St. Clair County officials let their big white elephant, MidAmerica Airport, hibernate for quite a while?

When the airport opened years ago, I suggested they padlock the airport and make my 10-year-old grandchild the manager. I think the airport and county would be in a better financial position today. I have another 10-year-old grandson now and I make the same offer. Why keep putting money into a dead project?

If it isn't our federal government, then it is the state and local government doing outrageous spending. Luckily I live in Clinton County and our county officials have more common sense.

First the county spent $4 million to build a new warehouse and now wants to spend $3 million to refrigerate the warehouse.

I read that they had a successful rodeo at the airport; maybe the airport should have been kept green instead of all the concrete.
